The curse of “Grosses Konzertstuck uber Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte”
Legend has it that a musical work by Franz Liszt, "Grosses Konzertstuck uber Mendelssohn's Lieder ohne Worte," is cursed. Whenever there's an attempt to perform it, things seem to go wrong, preventing the performance. It all started in 1835 when Liszt collapsed while premiering the work. Before the next attempt to perform it, in 1924, the pianist died before the performance. In 1986 a performance was blocked when the Dutch government seized the score, suspecting it contained coded espionage secrets. And in 1989, a storm knocked out the electricity to the concert hall right before a scheduled performance. I've embedded the piece below. See if it glitches out when you try to play it.
