Hairy Cheese
Short-haired and long-haired cheese, by artist Robert Gober. Produced circa 1992-1993. Some info from Larissa Paseta ("The Art of the Repugnant"): To achieve the texture of cheese, Gober hand sculpted the wedge out of beeswax. According to The Met, Gober sourced the hair from one of his studio assistants to add a "haunting, anthropomorphic cast." Along similar lines, and around the same time, Gober also created "Hairy Shoe".
