Miss Ideal Working Girl
The title of "Miss Ideal Working Girl" isn't particularly odd, but the list of prizes she won is a bit strange: "a free holiday trip, a cup, 50 gallons of gasoline, a clock, and some insecticide." Vallejo Times-Herald - May 4, 1951 I tracked down local coverage of the contest in Singapore's Straits Times. It reported that she won a holiday trip and a silver cup, but made no mention of the gasoline and insecticide. So who knows! It's possible the AP reporter embellished a few details. Straits Times - Apr 6, 1951 A better picture of Miss Ideal Working Girl, Daisy Frugtniet, three years later: The Straits Budget - Sep 2, 1954
