Mystery Kangaroo
Aug 1968: An unidentified man was driving on Grand Central Parkway past LaGuardia Airport when a kangaroo leapt into the road and collided with his car. The kangaroo didn't survive. The mystery is where the kangaroo came from. No one reported one missing, and animal shipments were usually done through Kennedy Airport, not LaGuardia. Port Authority police had been chasing the kangaroo for an hour before it leapt into the road, but they were also clueless about its origin. As far as I know, the mystery of where the kangaroo came from was never solved. NY Daily News - Aug 12, 1968
