Oct 1980: In need of money, Dan Hebert of Omaha came up with the idea of selling one of his eyeballs for $10,000. He had 20/20 vision, so he figured someone who needed an eye might be willing to pay him for that. Of course, Hebert did some deep thinking before settling upon his plan: "I would sit here and watch TV with a hand over one eye to see what it was like," he said.
